Visa Requirements for Foreign Nationals

There are three categories:

1. Nationals Who Do Not Require Visas - Exempt for up to 30 days (business) or 90 days (tourism).
2. Nationals Requiring Visas Prior to Travel - Must apply and receive approval before arrival.
3. Nationals Requiring Visas at the Port of Entry - Can obtain visas upon arrival.

Nationals Who Do Not Require Visas to Enter Zambia

Note: Visa requirement for United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Norway, New Zealand, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, the Gulf States (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates) was waived pursuant to Statutory Instrument Number 69 of 2022.

Nationals Requiring Visas Prior to Travel

Zambian entry visas for Nationals whose countries fall under (B) category require special advance clearance by the Zambian Authorities. Applicants must apply for the visa through the Director General of Immigration prior to their arrival into Zambia. The applicant must receive a letter of Approval prior to his/her travel and present it to an Immigration Officer at a port of entry. Applicants fall under category (B) are required to complete the following steps for e-Visa: www.zambiaimmigration.gov.zm or e-Services (zambiaimmigration.gov.zm)
